What's In My Bag Rome Edition

What's In My Bag Rome Edition - Salman Dean

Last week I was in Rome so I thought I'd share a few of my essentials that were in my bag. My backpack which was super handy is from Forbes & Lewis. Made from durable material it's well structured and comfortable. The extra padding made a difference - also the fact that you can fit so much stuff in!

First off I couldn't go to Rome without a good pair of sunglasses. Mine are the Classic Blue Wayfarers from Cheapass Sunglasses.

Being a total tourist I was using the maps on my phone which can be really draining on the battery. So I made sure I always had my portable charger with me. iPhone batteries are the worst. Anyone else agree?

Water in Rome is sold at an extortionate price in the tourist areas so I always made sure I had a bottle in my bag. I ended up going to a supermarket and getting a few for my hotel room - this works out so much cheaper.

The weather was amazing in Italy with an average of 26° C which meant I had to use sun protection. My favourite choice is Riemann P20 Sun Protection Spray SPF50 Plus. Although it does have a bit of a chemical smell I like the fact it's lightweight and non greasy. The smell doesn't linger and it doesn't feel like you are wearing a thick layer of product which is a good thing.

In the evenings it would get a little chilly so I always kept my ASOS Hooded Cardigan in my bag. It was super light which was great to throw in the backpack and it literally went with all my outfits.

On the first day only I would get bitten by insects while walking through Villa Borghese. So throughout the whole trip I was applying Lucas Pawpaw on them which helped reduce itching. This ointment is also great for burns, rashes, cuts and any other skin inflammations.

Well that's it guys - I would love to hear what some of your essentials are when traveling. Feel free to leave a comment below.

Love this! I'm obsessed with Burt's Bees haha. Bought 5 of them when I was in the UK in february because we don't have them here in Austria. What a shame.

Love, Kerstin
