The Christmas Candles That You Need To Try

Festive Yankee Candle Review

Hey guys how are you? The temperature has dramatically dropped and it's definitely feeling like winter. Christmas is only 6 weeks away and everything is starting to get festive. Since I was a teenager I've been obsessed with candles. I think it's because scent definitely effects my mood. If I have a candle burning it picks me up and makes me feel positive. Did you know? that some companies in Tokyo use scents to help improve productivity.

Ready For Autumn Winter With Richard James Mayfair

Autumn is officially here! Is it bad that I'm slightly excited for the upcoming cooler months? Sometimes it's nice to dress up and be cosy. I recently received this blazer and roll neck from Richard James Mayfair -  I've been a fan since I attended the Richard James AW16 show during LCM.

Richard James Mayfair is actually the diffusion line to the Savile Row brand which has forged a reputation for creating luxurious and beautifully tailored suits with a bold and progressive twist on the classic suit design. This blazer is a really good example of that - I'm in love with the deep purple colour. Not to mention the ombre roll neck which is made of the highest quality. I must say I felt really expensive the day this was shot haha. The collection is available from House of Fraser.

My Thoughts On The Kiehl's Facial Fuel Range

Salman Dean

Hey guys - I'm back with another skin care review post. As always I'm going to keep it 100% real and share with you the pro's and con's. These are just my thoughts so feel free to come to your own conclusion. One thing I have to say is I'm really disappointed with L'oreal across their brands as they don't list ingredients on their websites. As a customer I would like to know what is in the products I'm buying. I have included a full ingredients list for the products being reviewed below.

Healing The Wounds of Past Trauma

Today I'm going to address something that I almost never talk about. MY TRAUMATIC PAST. I don't want to delve into the in's and out's but I'd like to talk about my relationship with trauma. Growing up my childhood was very turbulent and I was only able to remove myself from that situation when I became an adult. This left me damaged however over time I feel like I've healed. Although something I've noticed not only in myself but others who have also suffer trauma is that we keep hurting ourselves. As human beings we tend to act up over our past, over and over again. Some people may think it is attention seeking or playing victim however I think it's a lot deeper than that.

Why I Think The Body Shop Missed The Mark With Their Tea Tree Range

Body Shop Tea Tree Review

I want to start of this post by saying how much I respect the Body Shop and the work they do. The Body Shop source their tea tree from Mount Kenya National Park and their trade history with Kenya has lead them to a long term partnership. They also provide education and training in sustainable farming methods and have even planted over 5000 seeds to help restore the surrounding habitat. Kenya is actually where my family are from so I think it's great that the Body Shop is supporting workers out there. That being said I'm not a massive fan of the tea tree skin care range and it's poor formulation. Let me break is down by product.

July Favourites 2016

Salman Dean July Favourites 2016
It is officially August! So I thought I would round up all my favourites of July. These are things I've been trying recently and I am totally obsessed with them. Just a quick note before I go into the post. If any of you are bloggers based around London please get in touch as I'm always looking for new creatives to collaborate with. Simply drop me an email or even a tweet. Enough rambling now so let's get into it.

Custom Phone Cases With CaseApp

Hey guys, I'm back with another post and I'm truly in love with this new phone case. A little while ago Swedish brand CaseApp reached out to me to review their products. They offer custom phone cases as well as custom laptop skins. The process of creating your own case is super easy. They also have various designs you can choose from which is what I did. My obsession with marble continues so I decided to go for this blue colour which really pops.

Roaming Around With Morgan M.

Hey guys I hope you are well. For this post I'm collaborating with Morgan M. who offer well crafted bags that are made from 100% leather. Their bags take inspiration from traditional British culture combined with the latest fashion trends in modern day London. This particular one is the Xalvador which is perfect for travelling. It has a four point folded opening which means that access to items at the top of the bag is as easy as the bottom, saving time and minimising the risk of creased clothing.

Odylique & Janjira Giveaway

Odylique & Janjira Giveaway

Hey guys, I'm back with another exciting giveaway for you! The lucky winner will be receiving an array of goodies from natural skin care brand Odylique and luxury spa brand Janjira. Below are the products up for grabs:

The Importance of "Me Time"

Salman Dean
Many of us know that looking after ourselves is important but how many of us actually do it? I'm quite a selfless person and I have a problem saying no. Because of this I recently ended up suffering from exhaustion and my doctor told me I need to make some lifestyle changes. The level of stress in your life can have a profound knock on effect. I practically laughed when my doctor told me that some of the illnesses I'm suffering from are caused by stress. I can appreciate that stress isn't something you can control (I mean duh who would want to be stressed out) but there are small changes you can make to your life. Basic things such as exercising, eating well, staying hydrated and getting enough sleep can help make you feel better.

Forever Fringed

Salman Dean
Black Leather Detail T-shirt - ZARA

For a couple years now I've been obsessed with finding a fringe jacket but I've never really had any luck. Then one day I was browsing the ASOS website and came across this beauty. I think everyone needs a statement jacket in their wardrobe that can take them from looking like a basic bitch to sassy.

Coffee Scrub DIY

Salman Dean Coffee Scrub DIY
Lately I've been seeing a lot of these coffee scrubs appearing on my Instagram feed. While I'm sure they are formulated really nicely I attempted to make my own and now I'm hooked. My skin feels so smooth and moisturised after doing a coffee scrub. It also smells really nice - definitely worth trying for any coffee lovers. However I do warn it can get kind of messy in the shower.

Anyway, here is everything you need to make your own:

Exclusive Interview With Patrick Grant + Backstage At The E. Tautz SS17 Show

Patrick Grant Backstage At The E. Tautz SS17 Show

Once again I was fortunate enough to be backstage of the E. Tautz show at LCM this year (see last seasons post). I interviewed creative director, Patrick Grant and I managed to grab some cheeky behind the scenes snaps. I really admire Patrick's work so to say I was nervous is an understatement. Here's what he had to say about the E. Tautz SS17 collection.

I'm Feeling 22

Salman Dean Birthday

Today is my birthday and I'm officially 22! I can't believe it because so much has transpired in the last year that I feel like a completely different person. Things are starting to feel weird now - nothing is comfortable anymore but I guess that's called growing up. This year I decided that I wanted to have a small intimate birthday affair with friends and family. Nothing grand but something meaningful.

May 2016 Favourites

Hey guys! I hope you are all well. I'm so glad May is over because it was a whirlwind for me - I've never felt so over worked in my life. To add more to my stress I'm happy to announce that I've recently become a contributor for Pause Mag so please feel free to check out my work here

I'm back with another monthly favourites post and I've got so many things I'd love to share. If you haven't gathered already I'm a product junkie and more than often the things I try aren't that great. So for me to rant on about a product is a pretty big deal. I've come across some real winners lately so without wasting anymore time, here are my favourites.

Why I'm Obsessed With Snapchat & My Favourite People To Follow

Okay guys, I've officially come over to the dark side and now I'm obsessed with Snapchat. I never really got into it and now it's part of my everyday life. I think it's really taken off because it's almost like everyday vlogging. With the likes of Kylie Jenner, bloggers and other celebrities I guess it lets us feel closer to our favourite people. Can you believe it's estimated over 1 billion Snapchat stories are viewed every 24 hours?! Anyway now onto the post, here are some of my favourite people to follow.

A Mini Travel Guide To Madrid

Madrid really lives up to everything you think it will be. With its amazing architecture, yummy food, nice weather (depending when you visit) and lively nightlife - it’s perfect for a culture-rich long weekend or city break.

Since 1561 Madrid has been the Spanish capital, celebrating rich history and culture however don’t be fooled because it is a very cosmopolitan city, with a modern urban twist.

The city is really easy to get around with an easy to use Metro system and various buses. It works out cheaper if you buy 10 trips compared to a single ticket. When visiting Madrid it would be easier if you knew a little Spanish to get by however if you don’t the locals will always try and help as best they can.

Hackney Coffee Co.

Hey guys - I hope you are well! A little while ago me and Kara Chelsie were invited to Hackney Coffee Company for the afternoon. Hidden in East London this little place is a characterful coffee shop, with kooky lamp shades & cozy reading spaces. Upstairs is decked out with massive bookcases which are stacked with loads of interesting reads.

Set The Tone

BAIT x New Balance 791 White Sneakers

Hey guys - I hope you are all well! Apologies for the lack of content but as you may have noticed the blog has been redesigned! There were a few bug issues which needed working out but I'm so happy with how it's turned out. I have so much exciting content that will be coming out this month, so make sure you watch this space. I do sometimes get stuck on what to write so feel free to tweet me, blog post suggestions or specific content you would like to see.

Being A Tourist In London

If you follow me on snapchat then you'll know last weekend I visited London Aquarium and The London Eye courtesy of 365 tickets. Living in London it's easy to take it for granted and not explore the city the way tourists do. Can you believe I've lived all my life in London and had never been on the London Eye up until this point?! Fortunately my friend Kara Chelsie joined me on this adventure and we had such a great day.

SS16 With Elliot Rhodes

Earlier this year I posted about my experience visiting one of the Elliot Rhodes stores (see here) and now I'm back with another post. If you don't already know Elliot Rhodes make custom belts with interchangeable buckles. We are already in SS16 now which means new fashions and trends - this goes for accessories too. Here are some of my tips and rules when it comes to accessorising with Elliot Rhodes this season.

What's In My Bag Rome Edition

What's In My Bag Rome Edition - Salman Dean

Last week I was in Rome so I thought I'd share a few of my essentials that were in my bag. My backpack which was super handy is from Forbes & Lewis. Made from durable material it's well structured and comfortable. The extra padding made a difference - also the fact that you can fit so much stuff in!

Mauve It Over

BAIT x New Balance 791 Grey Sneakers

Hey guys I'm back with another outfit post. Last weekend was surprisingly warm so I thought I would take advantage and wear shorts. Anyone who knows me, knows I love a good co-ord. I feel like they are going to be massive in menswear this season. I don't normally buy into "trends" just because that's what's popular. I have to really like the item or piece. If it doesn't speak to me then I know I don't need it in my wardrobe.

3 Ways To Fold A Pocket Square

Reiss Pocket Square
One the most important accessories in menswear is certainly a pocket square. I’m sure you’ve often wondered how they first started. Well the earliest documented pocket square dates back to ancient Egypt and followed through the ancient ages of Rome and Greece. However it was King Richard II of England, who popularised them. I feel like pocket squares are the underdog in the world of accessories but a pocket square can take a dull look and quickly make it look dapper.

Photo Diary: Columbia Road Flower Market

Columbia Road Flower Market
Last weekend the sun was shining and the weather was warm so I decided to visit Columbia Road Flower Market. Based in East London the flower market only runs on Sundays between 8am and 3pm. I would recommend getting there early as all the good flowers are snapped up by the end of the day. They also have some cool food places around so I decided to have breakfast there.

March Favourites

Salman Dean March Favourites Featuring Lavera And Crabtree & Evelyn
It's officially April! Can you believe it?! I honestly don't know where time is going. I'm back with another monthly favourites post although this one is slightly shorter than my previous ones. I think its mainly because what I have been loving in the past has rolled over into March - so I'm only mentioning what's not been on the blog before. Enough rambling now, let's get started!

Khaki Takeover

Hooded Kimono - ASOS
Green Shreeded Effect Jumper - Topman
Hey guys - I hope you're well. I'm finally back with another fashion post and this time it's all about khaki. For the last couple of years this colour has been taking over and it's predicted to be staying around for a while. When trying to wear only one colour for a look I think it's important to play around with silhouettes which is exactly what I tried to do. I'm looking very Kanye in this hooded kimono aren't I haha. The detailing in the kimono is incredible - especially the ruched sleeves and acid wash effect.

Grooming Giveaway

Salman Dean's Grooming Giveaway With Percy Nobleman, Pankhurst & Burt's Bees
I'm really excited to be hosting my first giveaway! The lucky winner will be receiving an array of grooming goodies, starting with the Percy Nobleman Matt Paste accompanied with their Hair Comb. Also up for grabs is the Pankhurst Aftershave Ice Gel which is great at calming skin and closing pores. To finish everything off you'll also be receiving the Burt's Bees Mango Lip Balm.

Too Much Information Tag

Hey guys! I hope you are well and having a good week. The last time I did a tag was in the summer (see here) so I thought I would do another one.  I find them really fun to do and hopefully you feel like you know me a little better.

Jacko BeltBrydon Brothers

Hey guys, I hope you are well. I've been so busy lately that I feel like time is just passing me by. I can't believe we are halfway through March! I always say I'll get blog stuff done on weekends but they seem to just fly by.

This is something I shot a little while back (clearly I was grumpy haha). I often don't wear shirts but when I saw this on ASOS I knew I had to buy it. I would say my wardrobe is fairly minimal but I love a crazy statement piece every now and then.

Interview With Creative Director of Tom Smarte Hats

Allon Zloof, Creative Director of Tom Smarte Hats

Hey guys - I hope you are well and enjoying your weekend. I recently met up with Allon Zloof, Creative Director of Tom Smarte Hats and got to ask him a few questions. Honestly I've never met someone so hard working. It was a little difficult to arrange a meeting with Allon as he was in Pitti, Italy showcasing the hats and then in New York for fashion week. However he kindly made time for me once he was back in London. The brand it self is the epitome of luxury. Tom Smarte hats have something for everyone with classic designs accompanied by a modern twist.

The Power Shirt - #TheKrag

Hey guys, I hope you've had an amazing week. I'm back with another outfit post as promised. This time I shot with Rob however it was a bit difficult with the low lighting of our location. None the less Rob powered through and this is what we managed to get.

I don't know if you read my post about being over slim fit clothes and more into baggy pieces (see here). But that couldn't be more true than with this look. I mean don't get me wrong I like a pair of skinny jeans just like anyone else. But sometimes it's nice to play around and change it up. These faux leather baggy pants have a 90's vibe about them.

I paired the Antony Morato Faux Leather Joggers with this longline shirt from #TheKrag and it all seemed to work. The detailing on this shirt is impeccable. From the leather collar to the piping, it's put together very well. Also the material is of such a high quality - you can tell the way the blue shines in the light.

I want to say a massive thank you to #TheKrag for collaborating with me on this. I also want to thank Club Cuckoo for letting me shoot in your amazing venue. Please leave your comments below as I would love to hear what you have to say? Baggy clothing? Yae or nay?

Muted Leather

Black Stretch Skinny Jeans - River Island
Nudie Crew Jumper - ASOS

Hey guys, I hope you are well. Sorry for the lack of outfit posts. I was in Madrid last week and I've been catching up with life. Making time to shoot is always difficult when working. No i'm not a full time blogger but that is my goal haha. Anyway enough of that. I recently met up with my friend Kara and we shot some stuff for our blogs.

This is one of my favourite looks that I've come up with in a while. I am really obsessed with the faux leather jacket, mainly because it has neoprene inserts which makes it different. Also it was on sale so what is not to love about getting a bargain! The Nudie Crew Jumper is typical me. Featuring a brush stoke effect the tones of brown look  so much more detailed in real life. Although it is a little bit too thin for these harsh conditions, I'll be wearing it more once the weather warms up.

Well that's it guys - you can find the links above to all the items featured and they are on sale, so hurry! I am going to try shooting more outfit posts real soon. I do promise to up my game and come up with some exciting content. Please leave your comments below because I love to hear what you guys have to say. Also you can give me a follow on Twitter if you want to keep up with my daily ramblings

Photo Diary: Royal Palace of Madrid

Salman Dean's Photo Diary of The Royal Palace of Madrid
Last week I was in Madrid, so here are some snaps from when I visited the Royal Palace. You aren't allowed to take pictures in many of the rooms inside, so here is what I managed to capture. The inside was truly beautiful, if you are in Madrid you must visit the palace.

The palace itself was constructed by Muhammad I and inherited after 1036 by the independent Taifa of Toledo. After Madrid fell to Alfonso VI in 1083, the palace was only rarely used by the kings of Castile. Even till today the palace is rarely used - only for formal occasions.
