A Day At Mount Kenya Safari Club

Mount Kenya Safari Club
Mount Kenya Safari Club is every luxury travellers dream with majestic views of Mount Kenya, which I ironically didn't manage to capture any photo's of. The resort is based in the town of Nanyuki here in Kenya with over 100 acres of landscaped gardens and 120 luxury hotel rooms. I was fortunate to spend the day here courtesy of my aunt who went full out and treated me to lunch. There was a buffet with a massive spread from freshly cooked pasta, handmade burgers to barbecued meat and the most delicious curries. Not to forget the wide array of desserts including freshly made waffles with whipped cream and fruits. All in all I think it was 3000 kenyan shillings per person which works out to be £18/ $28.

The Safari Club itself has a charm to it with peakcocks walking around and the grand architectural design of the whole place. Spending the night here can cost you a pretty penny with prices starting from £500/$750 per night onwards. However they have a wide range of options from standard rooms to luxury suits and not to mention gorgeous cottages with killer views. The Safari Club itself dates back to the 1950's where it was found by American movie star William Holden who had a love for hunting in East Africa at the time. The club is so vast with some parts of it abandoned and untouched such as the old landing strip and the unused film studio.

Whether you're residing at the Safari Club or you're just visiting for the day, there are various recreational activities to do such as horseback riding, golf, croquet, a bowling green, table tennis, swimming, an animal orphanage, a maze, the rose gardens and much more. May I add it was my first time ever riding a horse which was amazing but while we were riding I managed to spot one the rarest animals, a white zebra! Overall it was a great day out, I would strongly advise you to pay a visit if you are in Nairobi and looking for a day trip out. It will only take you a few hours and it offers something different compared to the city.

Coastal Affair

Monochrome Palm Printed Trousers - Zara

I'm writing to you from the sunny south coast of Diani here in Kenya. This place is like paradise with soft white sands, crystal clear water and a warm tropical temperature. I apologise it's been a while since I did an outfit post but they take up so much of my time. I promise to keep more coming once I'm back in the UK. But don't worry you guys will be seeing more from my amazing trip (dependant on how good the wifi is in the different hotels). Now onto the clothes!

I've had these palm printed trousers from Zara for a while now, they are my favourite to wear during the summer in London. However they have never looked so amazing as they do against this backdrop. I kept it simple and paired it with a thin mesh oversized t-shirt, once again from Zara (clearly I'm obsessed with them but who isn't). Anyone who has been to Kenya knows that Masai jewellery is abundant so I picked up a matching bracelet and anklet set while I was walking along the beach. Is this something you would rock?
